We believe companies can be a powerful force in changing the conditions under which people work in their global supply chains. Thus we are committed to helping companies make an impact in their fight to eradicate forced labor. We believe it is important to highlight strong efforts to address forced labor, and equally hold companies and their representatives, such as industry- and multi stakeholder initiatives, accountable where their efforts fall short.
KnowTheChain started engaging the 180 companies it assesses in 2022 at least one year ahead of the 2020 benchmark publication. Companies are invited to join introductory webinars to learn more about the KnowTheChain methodology and to provide feedback on the methodology (where relevant). Following each benchmark launch, KnowTheChain invites companies to set up a 1-1 call or join one of the webinars to discuss the benchmark findings and recommendations.
KnowTheChain aims to support companies in non-English speaking regions. To ensure we are communicating to the right contact, where needed, we follow up in local languages to ensure the most appropriate contact is established. Further, where possible, webinars to share the benchmark findings are set up for different time zones and in different languages. Further, KnowTheChain translates selected materials into seven languages.
COMPANY ENGAGEMENT AND DISCLOSURE
In order to reduce reporting burden, KnowTheChain assesses corporate disclosure instead of sending companies a questionnaire. The initial findings are shared with companies and companeis have the opportunities to set up a call with the KnowTheChain team to discuss the findings and/or to provide additional information.
